Postponed: Out at Work – LGBTQ+ Alumni Panel and Reception

6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. June 04, 2019

This event has been postponed. Please check back for details.

Navigating professional spaces as LGBTQ+ can be a confusing, difficult or even dangerous process. The VCU Office of Alumni Relations, in partnership with Equality VCU, hosts a panel and open discussion to address common questions, feelings and fears about being out in the professional world.

VCU alumni panelists share their professional experiences to help shape and guide our conversation. Panelists are Rhonda Williams (A.S.’68/En), engineer and software entrepreneur; Austyn Higgs (B.S.'14/B), program manager and school liaison with the VCU Office of Continuing Professional Education; and Elaine V. Kelley (B.A.'08/H&S; B.A.'08/H&S), a U.S. foreign service officer serving as a watch officer in the Department of State’s 24/7 operations center. The $5 registration includes hors d'oeuvres and one drink ticket.
