Poet Yusef Komunyakaa, who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1994 for his collection Neon Vernacular, will be reading from his newest collection, The Chameleon Couch, which was a finalist for the 2011 National Book Awards. For his extensive work as a poet, Komunyakaa has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Academy of American Poets’ Wallace Stevens Award. Komunyakaa is one of the preeminent writers in the field of contemporary poetry. His reading at VCU is made possible through a partnership with the VCU Department of English.
