"My Masculinity Helps"

7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Feb. 10, 2015

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Wellness Resource Center (Well) in partnership with VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Black Education Association, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and University Counseling Services is proud to feature My Masculinity Helps on February 10.

Filmmaker, Dr. Marc Grimmett will engage the audience in an interactive dialogue following the film review.

"My Masculinity Helps" explores the role of African American men and boys in the prevention of sexual violence. The goal of this short, 30 minute educational documentary is to engage boys and men, along with women, in the deconstruction of gender roles, masculinity, and power and in the

prevention of sexual violence. To help achieve this goal we want to better understand the impact this video has on viewers thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors related to aspects of sexual violence.

My Masculinity Helps will be held in Commonwealth Ballroom B in the Student Commons Tuesday, February 10 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
