The VCU Alumni African-American Alumni Council is celebrating Reunion Weekend April 5-7. Join us for a fun-filled weekend of events and activities planned with you in mind. We’ll celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Theta Rho chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Eta Xi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

Take advantage of the AAAC’s room block at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown (formerly the Crowne Plaza). The room block is expected to sell out so reserve your room early at the $145 per night discounted rate. The reservation deadline is Thursday, March 14.

AAAC Golf Outing
When: 10 a.m. tee time

Cost: $45 (pay on site)
Hit the links with fellow alumni at The Crossings Golf Club. Outing includes cart, box lunch, golf prizes and a banquet/cookout at the end of the day. Saturday, April 6

Where: Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St., Richmond, VA
Enjoy a morning of fun and recreation at the Cary Street Gym. Identify yourself as a VCU graduate attending Reunion Weekend at the entrance. Please note that a volleyball club tournament is taking place at the gym so open basketball courts will be limited.
Mentoring Circle Mocktail Party
When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Sports Medicine Center (next door to the Siegel Center), 1300 W. Broad St., Richmond, VA
Alumni are invited to participate in this year’s AAAC Mentoring Circle. The Mentoring Circle connects current VCU African-American undergraduate students with VCU African-American alumni who share common professional aspirations and interests. Mentors are asked to promote and to encourage academic excellence, to provide guidance on how to socially navigate the collegiate community experience, to model networking and proper social etiquette and to offer advice on career success. The mentoring relationship is sustained through monthly exchanges via email, mobile phone and, when feasible, through face-to-face interactions. Join fellow classmates, friends, family and Rams of all ages for this popular event! Enjoy music and tailgating by various organizations. Alcohol strictly prohibited.
Epic Night of Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
When: 7-11 p.m.
Where: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 200 N. Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220 (complimentary parking in the VMFA deck)
Cost: $40 (plus Eventbrite fees) before March 15, $50 after March 15 (plus Eventbrite fees)

AAAC, in conjunction with alumnus Kevin Franks (B.S.’92/H&S), invite alumni and friends to a Saturday evening soiree at VMFA. We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the AAAC and the 45th anniversaries of the Theta Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Eta Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. The evening includes hors d’oeuvres, music by DJ Nobe, cash bar and access to the Fabergé and Mid to Late 20th Century galleries.

Until We Meet Again: Breakfast and Fellowship Program
Where: The Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown, 555 E. Canal St., Richmond, VA
When: 10 a.m.-noon
Join us for a perfect way to end the weekend and remember classmates who are no longer with us with the return of the Sunday morning fellowship program. The Rev. Dr. Cheryl Ivey Green, pastor at First Baptist Church of South Richmond, provides remarks. Please let us know of any alumni who have passed away since last year’s Reunion. RSVP early; space is limited.
