India Lecture

7 p.m. - 8 p.m. Oct. 09, 2017

Join the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs for the 2017 India Lecture. This year the school welcomes Shashi Tharoor, a member of India's Parliament who previously served as India's minister of state for human resource development and minister of state for external affairs. He also served for nearly three decades at the United Nations, where he was a peacekeeper, a refugee worker and an administrator at the highest levels, including serving as undersecretary general during Kofi Annan's leadership. In a 2015 speech at the Oxford Union, Tharoor called for Britain to pay reparations to India and other former colonies for its decades of imperial rule.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
