About us

Welcome to VCU Alumni

It is a personal and professional pleasure to serve as president of your alumni association. This is an exciting time to become a part of our organization, dedicated to serving VCU’s 190,000 alumni worldwide.

VCU Alumni is an inclusive membership organization that welcomes all graduates. Whether your relationship with the university began at the Medical College of Virginia, the Richmond Professional Institute, on the Monroe Park Campus or MCV Campus, or at VCUarts Qatar, your participation is vital in our efforts to support and strengthen the university.

VCU Alumni is led by committed alumni volunteers serving on the board of governors. In spring 2018, the board endorsed ELEVATE, a new five-year strategic plan, which begins with programming and engagement for all graduates. I encourage you to connect with your alma mater by volunteering, making a philanthropic donation or attending events.

Many events are hosted by VCU Alumni’s more than 40 constituent organizations representing academic, geographic and shared interests. These alumni groups are key partners in the dynamic life of VCU and all are engaged in advancing the university by celebrating the pride and diverse heritage of our university. You can affiliate with one or more of them.

Look for information on alumni events and activities sent to you by email and through social media and the VCU Alumni app. If you’re not receiving emails from VCU, update your information to be sure we have your current email address.

Welcome to our alumni organization. I look forward to meeting you. Feel free to share your ideas for activities and events you would like to see added. Your participation is important to me and to the university.

Yours for VCU,

Dale Kalkofen sig
