Training the Street: Applied Excel

Do you want to strengthen your applied Excel skills? This one-day workshop, offered by VCU's Center for Corporate Education, uses live instruction, exercises and Q&A to improve your ability to use Excel efficiently to parse a large data set and interpret the results.
Topics covered include:
- Basic Excel setup including macro security, iterations and calculations settings
- Customizing toolbars in Excel (including adding icons to your toolbar)
- Excel best practices, including common shortcut keys and other efficiency tips
- Understanding how to efficiently design historical inputs and forecast financial projections
- Best practices for building formulas (auto sum, filling, anchoring)
- Auditing formulas and cell references
Cost: $200 due in full at registration. A 10 percent discount is available at registration to VCU alumni and anyone who registers before Aug. 7. Discounts cannout be combined. Cost includes breakfast, lunch, parking and all materials.
