Richmond Chapter Social Justice Series: Finance and Equity

The VCU Alumni Richmond Chapter continues its virtual social justice series with a panel focused on equity in finance. Richmond city Treasurer Nichole Armstead (B.S.'98/MC) hosts and discusses inequity in the world of finance with Wendell Fuller, CFP, and Jeffrey Jones, CRPC (B.S.’12/B).

About the speakers

Wendell B. Fuller, CFP: He founded Fuller Wealth Advisors Inc. after more than a decade of extensive experience advising and managing assets for affluent families and individuals. He graduated from Memphis State University with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He continuously works to expand his expertise and knowledge through active engagement in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and serving on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia. Now entering his 19th year in the profession, he continues to manage adroitly and direct the financial stewardship of his clients’ goals and objectives. 

Jeffrey N. Jones, CRPC (B.S.’12/B)He is a financial planner with Ameriprise Financial with 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has experience working with a wide variety of clients including corporate leaders, small business owners, teachers and missionaries. He earned an associate's degree in business administration from Bacone College in 1990 and a bachelor's in finance, with a concentration in personal financial planning, from the VCU school of Business in 2012. He received his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation in 2008. 

About the moderator

Nichole Armstead (B.S.'98/MC): Sworn into office in 2018 Richmond city Treasurer, Armstead previously spent 19 years in the banking industry with 17 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and two years at Virginia Credit Union. In her first year of service as City Treasurer, she established the Financial Awareness Coalition, which is a team of volunteers that meet monthly to help develop financial outreach services to the community. Thereafter, she spearheaded the city’s Inaugural Financial Literacy Fair in 2019, and most recently launched the City Treasurer’s Office of Financial Empowerment to provide and promote additional programs throughout the Richmond community.
