VCUarts presents the 2011 Windmueller Artist Lecture, "In Conversation: El Anatsui with Babatunde Lawal."
Ghanaian-born sculptor El Anatsui is one of the most significant artistic innovators of our time, merging personal, local and global concerns in his transformation of discarded materials. Professor Babatunde Lawal joined the VCU Department of Art History in 1992 and specializes in African and African Diaspora art with a personal research focus on the ancient and contemporary arts of Nigeria.
This lecture is free; seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
